"When you support SAMP, you are helping priests like Fr. Athanasios Akunda from Kenya."

Orthodox Christian Mission Center:

"Thank you all so much for the donations that are continuing to come in for our Support a Mission Priest program! You can click here http://bit.ly/1c0Wnll to donate now if you haven't done so yet. When you support SAMP, you are helping priests like Fr. Athanasios Akunda, seen here. Fr. Athanasios was born on October 17, 1971, in Ebukhubi, Kenya. He became Orthodox at the age of 8 after his parents converted to Orthodoxy. He graduated from the Makarios III Patriarchal Seminary in Kenya in 1994. In 1998, he received a scholarship to attend Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts. After graduation, he was called to leave his native Kenya and serve the Church in South Africa. Fr. Athanasios currently serves the parish of St. Nicholas of Japan in Johannesburg, and has been deputy dean and teacher for the seminary program in South Africa to train future clergy. Your donations help make it possible for him and other SAMP priests like him to serve. Thank you for your continued support of the work OCMC is doing through our SAMP program!"
