ORTHODOX, THE WAY OF LIFE: CHRIST IDENTIFIES HIMSELF WITH MARGINALIZED PEOPLE...

Innocentios Byakatonda

Through the blessings of H.G Innocentios Byakatonda, the Bishop of Orthodox Diocese of Burundi and Rwanda; Rwamagana community celebrated the Dormition of Theotokos’ Feast. Following the Divine Liturgy, a procession took a place around the city of Rwamagana District. After the services, people gathered around the chapel to share the first fruits traditionally called “umuganura.”Among the people who participated, a group of underprivileged community was present to share with their neighbors in strengthening the unit and reconciliation process and integrating them in the society. Historically, around a half decade ago, these marginalized people could not sit and share with common citizens; consequently they were living by hunting and pottery in their isolated places.
Socialization is a process which needs different partners. Please come and join us in extending merciful hands to these beloved creatures, they are people like us.

From the Desk Office of the Diocese.
