VISIT TO THE CAPITAL BRAZZAVILLE

On the morning of 6th December 2017, His Eminence Panteleimon Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, arrived in the capital, Brazzaville in Congo, where he attended the Divine Liturgy in commemoration of St Nicholas the Wonderworker, at the Holy Parish Church of the Resurrection of the Lord. After the end of the Eucharistic Gathering, he met with the faithful, who expressed their deep satisfaction, joy and gratitude to His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and the Holy Synod of the ancient patriarchate for elevating the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville to a Metropolis
His Eminence then went to the Consulate General of Greece, to address his wishes to the Consul General Mr. Nicholas Perris on the occasion of his name day and to his wife, Mrs Stavroula Perri, to whom he also expressed the gratitude of the local Church  for their – with particular modesty – unconditional, selfless and decisive support of the Holy Metropolis in the 5 years of his tenure in the African Equator, making particular mention of the fact that the respect and the recognition which is given by the Authorities of this noble country of Congo-Brazzaville to their honoured figures, is an honour for Greece and the Orthodox Church, of which they are active members.
His Eminence then attended the lunch which was hosted by the Honourable Mr. Perris at the Consular Residence, after which he returned by air to Pointe-Noire.
